Technorati estimates that the Internet hosted no fewer than 112.8 million blogs in 2011.

Wow. Let that number sink in. That’s a whole lot of bloggery! It pencils out to one blog for every 63 people on the face of the planet.

Presented graphically, the Internet and its ever-expanding blogosphere looks kind of pretty, doesn’t it?

Roughly 15 percent of those blogs are devoted to some aspect of the world of work. We’re talking a minimum of 17 million blogs ostensibly dedicated to improving organizations, their leaders, and the decisions they make.

Which begs the question: Why in the name of all that is digital does the world need one more blog about leadership and decision-making? Who needs Blog No. 17,000,001?

Let me put this boldly.

You need this blog. Your colleagues need this blog. And so does anyone else who belongs to a group that has formed around a purpose. (Which is pretty much everybody.)

That’s a big claim. But then, after years of working in the field of evaluation, the TrueBearing associates who contribute to this blog have seen the good, the bad and the ugly of organizations, leadership, and change– so we have a pretty big need ourselves to write a blog.  We hope it’s valuable to you as well.
